Ric Flair has been released from his WWE contract after going directly to Vince McMahon and requesting it due to being unhappy with the creative direction of the company.

The news of Flair's release has been confirmed by Wrestling Inc.

WWE has yet to announce the news publically but it comes off the heels of the shock release of Bray Wyatt a couple of days ago. 

Flair was last involved in a storyline with Lacey Evans and his daughter Charlotte Flair which he publicly expressed disliking. The storyline was nixed when Evans became pregnant off-screen.
