WWE is bringing Matt Mathews back, this time for Monday Night RAW.

The company has announced that comedian and social media personality Matt Mathews will appear on the September 7, 2026 edition of RAW from the Legacy Arena at The BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mathews already has some WWE experience under his belt. He appeared on the June 23 episode of NXT, getting involved at ringside during Hank & Tank's match against Birthright members Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Uriah Connors. His distraction ultimately helped Hank & Tank pick up the victory.

Known for his unfiltered Southern comedy and viral farm videos, Mathews has built a huge social media following before taking his act on the road with successful comedy tours.

WWE has yet to reveal exactly what Mathews will be doing on RAW, but he joins a show currently advertising Oba Femi, Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, Penta, Sol Ruca and Seth Rollins.

Ryan Garcia Wanted More From His WWE Appearance

Mathews' return comes after another celebrity guest admitted he wasn't completely satisfied with how WWE used him.

WBC Welterweight Champion Ryan Garcia appeared on the July 27 edition of RAW ahead of his title defence against Conor Benn. Garcia was involved in a segment featuring Dominik Mysterio, Danhausen and Joe Hendry, eventually smashing a guitar across Hendry's back.

The appearance generated criticism from some fans, particularly because of controversies surrounding Garcia and previous racial comments.

Speaking with ESNews afterwards, Garcia said he wanted WWE to give him something closer to Floyd Mayweather's memorable 2008 programme with Big Show.

“That’s what I wanted. See, I wish they would’ve given me a better segment, because then I wouldn’t have gotten as much hate,” Garcia said.

It remains to be seen whether Mathews will simply make a guest appearance or whether WWE has something more substantial planned for his return.
