Zilla Fatu has officially arrived in WWE NXT, and he wasted little time making his presence felt.

Fatu made his surprise appearance during Tuesday night's main event between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller. The match was supposed to determine the next challenger for Tony D'Angelo's NXT Championship, but those plans were thrown into chaos when Fatu stormed the ring.

The 26-year-old attacked both competitors, resulting in the match ending by disqualification. Fatu then delivered splashes to Montana and Waller before turning his attention towards NXT Champion Tony D'Angelo, who was watching from ringside.

Fatu made his intentions clear by informing D'Angelo that there was a "new sheriff in town," immediately putting the champion on notice.

One notable detail from the appearance was how Fatu was introduced. NXT commentator Vic Joseph specifically identified him as Zilla Fatu, strongly suggesting WWE intends to allow him to continue performing under the name he established before joining the company.

Fatu's arrival had been expected following reports in recent weeks that he was preparing to report to the WWE Performance Center once his remaining independent wrestling commitments were completed.

Who Is Zilla Fatu?

Zilla Fatu is the son of the late WWE star Umaga and is another member of professional wrestling's famous Anoa'i family. His relatives include Roman Reigns, The Usos and Solo Sikoa, giving him one of the most recognisable wrestling family backgrounds in the industry.

Fatu began his professional wrestling career in 2023 after training under WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. He became a regular performer for Booker's Reality of Wrestling promotion before expanding his appearances across the independent scene.

Despite being relatively early into his career, Fatu has already collected championship gold. His accomplishments include winning the 4th Rope Heavyweight Championship and the House of Glory Crown Jewel Championship.

His HOG title reign recently came to an end when Amazing Red defeated him at House of Glory's High Intensity event on August 8.

Now officially part of NXT, Fatu has immediately placed himself in the championship conversation, with Tony D'Angelo seemingly his first major target.
