Bayleyâs future with WWE appears to remain unresolved, with a new report suggesting the former Womenâs Champion has yet to commit to a new deal with the company.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed Bayleyâs current status during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, with Meltzer stating that she has a significant decision to make regarding the next stage of her career.
Bayley has been absent from WWE television since losing to Lyra Valkyria during the July 18 edition of Saturday Nightâs Main Event at Madison Square Garden. Her most recent match took place at a WWE live event in Bakersfield, California on July 26.
According to Meltzer, Bayley has not yet put pen to paper on another WWE contract.
âThe only thing I heard from them when it comes to Bayley is that Bayley has a decision to make. So thatâs the story. Bayley has a decision to make. She has not signed a contract.â
Meltzer suggested WWE may be waiting for Bayley to make her decision before moving ahead with any potential television storyline involving her.
âWhen she signs a contract, Iâm sure sheâll be back on TV. If she doesnât sign, I think theyâre doing the same thing with that that Tony does, or has done. He doesnât always do it and they donât always do it. But I think the situation with her is if she signs a contract, sheâll probably come back and attack Lyra, and thatâll be her storyline. And if she doesnât sign, then she doesnât come back and the Madison Square Garden thing was her write-off.â
If that scenario proves accurate, Bayleyâs Madison Square Garden match could potentially serve as her final televised WWE appearance should the two sides fail to reach an agreement.
The uncertainty has inevitably resulted in speculation about what Bayley could do outside WWE, particularly with AEW.
Bayley added some fuel to that conversation with an Instagram training video on Monday. The clip featured a song titled âAll In,â while Bayley accompanied the post with the caption, âAll or Nothing, baby.â
Given AEWâs association with the All In name, some fans interpreted the choice as a possible tease. There has been no confirmation, however, that Bayleyâs post was intended as a reference to AEW.
Mercedes MonĂŠ has also played into the speculation surrounding her longtime friend and rival.
MonĂŠ recently shared a fan-created match graphic depicting herself against Bayley at AEW WrestleDream, immediately prompting further discussion about the possibility of the two eventually renewing their rivalry outside WWE.
Bayley herself has recently appeared reflective about her career. In a mini-documentary covering her Saturday Nightâs Main Event match against Valkyria, she spoke about reconsidering her position and value within professional wrestling.
âI feel like Iâm taking a further look back at everything, or seeing it from a different view, and knowing my place in this business, and knowing my worth in this business.â
