Hechicero delivered a major victory for Team CMLL on Friday night, emerging as the winner of the 2026 CMLL Men’s International Grand Prix.

The annual tournament returned to Arena Mexico on August 7, featuring an 11-on-11 elimination match that brought together a stacked collection of CMLL talent and international names.

The contest eventually came down to four men, with Hechicero and Mistico representing CMLL against AEW stars Claudio Castagnoli and Pac.

Team International gained a significant advantage when Castagnoli and Pac combined to eliminate Mistico. The pair connected with a spiked version of Castagnoli's Neutralizer, leaving Hechicero as the final representative of Team CMLL against two opponents.

Despite the numbers disadvantage, Hechicero managed to turn the match around.

Pac was the first to fall after Hechicero caught him with his snapping headscissors technique, setting up a final showdown between the CMLL World Heavyweight Champion and Castagnoli.

Hechicero ultimately secured the Grand Prix victory by trapping Castagnoli in El Embrujo and forcing the former champion to submit.

The result gives Hechicero another notable victory over Castagnoli during 2026. On March 20, Hechicero defeated Castagnoli to capture the CMLL World Heavyweight Championship.
