A new report has shed additional light on the Becky Lynch remark that WWE later removed from the Netflix replay of Monday Night Raw.

Dave Meltzer addressed the situation in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, revealing that the controversial line was reportedly planned in advance rather than something Lynch decided to say on the spot.

During the August 3 episode of Raw, Lynch took aim at Liv Morgan during their verbal exchange and referenced Morgan's Judgment Day ally Dominik Mysterio.

Lynch said:

“You’re not even the greatest women’s champion in your own group! Hell, you’re not even the greatest women’s champion that slept with Dominik Mysterio.”

While viewers watching Raw live heard the comment, it was subsequently removed from the version of the episode available to watch on Netflix following the broadcast.

That decision prompted questions over whether Lynch had gone off-script or said something WWE officials had not approved beforehand. According to Meltzer, however, that was not the case.

Meltzer reports that the remark appeared in the script for the show, with Paul "Triple H" Levesque and other WWE officials aware of what Lynch was going to say before the segment took place.

Meltzer wrote:

“On the 8/3 Raw show, the line Lynch gave about Morgan not even being the best wrestler to have slept with Dominik Mysterio was edited off the replays. From what we were told, the line was not Lynch going impromptu as it was on the script and Levesque and others knew about it before she said it. She said, ‘You’re not even the greatest women’s champion in your own group! Hell, you’re not even the greatest women’s champion that slept with Dominik Mysterio.’”

The report therefore suggests the decision to remove the comment from the Netflix replay came despite WWE management knowing about the line before it aired live.

It remains unclear exactly why the remark was removed from the on-demand version after being approved for the original broadcast.
