Brie Bella Explains Why Chelsea Green's Title Win Felt So Special

Chelsea Green's emotional victory at WWE SummerSlam left a lasting impression on many, including WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella, who believes the moment carried the same electric connection with fans that her husband, Bryan Danielson, experienced during some of the biggest nights of his career.

Green captured the Interim WWE Women's Championship during night two of SummerSlam in Minneapolis, climbing the ladder to defeat Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, and Lash Legend in a thrilling five way contest. The celebration was made even more memorable with her family watching from ringside.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Brie Bella reflected on Green's championship win and explained why it reminded her so much of Danielson's unforgettable rise.

"It was incredible. It was incredible. You know, her moment reminds me a lot of the moments Brian had, where the fans are just, it's also a moment for the fans. Right? So everyone celebrates, and it just feels really good. And all of us were celebrating. Like we were so happy for her."

Nikki Bella added that seeing Green's family witness the milestone in person made the celebration even more meaningful. Having recently joined Green for WWE media appearances in Phoenix, Nikki said the atmosphere was something special.

"And her whole family was like ringside. They all were sitting right there together, and it was such an epic moment."

The Bella Twins also believe Green is the perfect person to carry the interim championship, with Brie praising her ability to entertain every time she appears.

"It's gonna be, and she's gonna make it so entertaining. She's just so entertaining."

Green's championship victory marks another remarkable chapter in one of WWE's biggest comeback stories. After being released by the company in 2021, she returned during the 2023 Royal Rumble and has steadily rebuilt her place on the roster.

Following her SummerSlam win, Green revealed the title victory came almost exactly four years after she sent Triple H a message asking for another opportunity with WWE. She has also spoken openly about being told multiple times throughout her 13 year wrestling career that she would never reach the top.

The Interim WWE Women's Championship was introduced after Rhea Ripley suffered a meniscus injury in June. A title unification match is expected once Ripley is medically cleared to compete. Before then, Green is set to make her first title defense on this Friday's edition of SmackDown.
