WWE Files New Trademark For Blake Monroe Nickname Ahead Of SmackDown Debut
WWE is continuing to build out the presentation for Blake Monroe ahead of her official move to SmackDown, with the company now filing a trademark for her longtime nickname, “The Glamour.”

According to a filing submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office on May 19, WWE applied to secure the rights to the name under its standard wrestling and entertainment categories.

The filing covers:

“We are filing under IC 041 for entertainment services, namely wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer presented live and through various forms of broadcast media including television, radio, internet streaming, and online services. The application also includes wrestling news and information distributed through global computer networks, online sports and entertainment portals, fan club services, social entertainment events, newsletters, and blogs related to sports entertainment.”

The trademark move comes as anticipation continues to grow for Monroe’s first appearance on SmackDown. PWInsider recently reported that her debut on the blue brand is expected before the end of May. WWE has been airing teaser vignettes for Monroe since April 24, though she has yet to appear in person on television. Monroe also recently teased the possibility of debuting during WWE’s European Summer Tour stop in Spain.

Monroe officially joined SmackDown earlier this month following her run in NXT. Before arriving in WWE, she built her reputation on the British independent scene and later competed in Japan with World Wonder Ring Stardom, where she captured the Goddesses of Stardom Championship alongside Mina Shirakawa.

She later signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2023 and eventually became AEW Women’s World Champion. After departing the company in May 2025, Monroe signed with WWE the following month. During her NXT run, she won the NXT Women’s North American Championship before losing the title to Tatum Paxley in a casket match shortly before her main roster call-up.

Mark Henry also spoke highly of Monroe after the move to SmackDown, praising her versatility and complete in-ring skill set.

“She has no weakness in her game. She can flip and fly, grapple, chain wrestle, punch and kick.”

Henry also described Monroe as an “old school throwback wrestler” during his comments, something Monroe later said she appreciated when discussing the praise with Vicente Beltrán.
