WWE 205 Live Coverage & Results (5/01) Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Welcome to the live coverage for 205 Live!

We open the show with a highlight of the Cedric Alexander versus Kalisto match from The Greatest Royal Rumble show before transitioning into the opening video package.

Tonight, Buddy Murphy returns and Kalisto takes on Drew Gulak in a rematch from last week.


Akira Tozawa & Hideo Itami vs. The Brian Kendrick & Gentleman Jack Gallagher


Jack Gallagher and Akira Tozawa start this off as they circle around.  Akira catches Jack with a chop before trying for another only to feint the shot for a punch instead.  Jack Gallagher falls into the bottom turnbuckle where Tozawa stomps on him.  Tozawa pulls him out to hit a running senton before they tag out.  Hideo tries for a waist lock, but Kendrick reverses into an armhold.  Itami reverses out of it into a headlock before that is reversed into a wrist lock.  Itami gets out with a forearm to the face.  Kendrick fires back with a forearm strike.  They exchange blows back and forth.  Kendrick begins laying into Itami before Itami hits a leg whip before tagging in Akira.  Akira hits a running elbow in the corner before they hit a synchronized kick in the corner.  Tozawa hits a big missile dropkick for a two count.  Jack Gallagher manages to tag in and take out Akira outside of the ring before hitting a Blackout onto the barricade.  Jack rolls him in before tagging in Kendrick.

Kendrick locks in an armhold before Akira fights out with elbows to the head of Kendrick.  Itami tags in and begins hitting some heavy kicks!  Itami kicks Gallagher off the apron before hitting a weird slam on the ropes before hitting a leaping clothesline.  Akira tags in before they are overcome Itami and throw him out.  They try for a tag move that results in Kendrick getting dumped out.  Akira hits a windmill kick before climbing up top.  Itami and Kendrick enter the ring before Itami hits the ropes to crotch Akira!  Kendrick hits a big heel kick to floor Itami before Gallagher hits a headbutt on Akira for the three count!

Winners:  Akira Tozawa & Hideo Itami

They show a video package of Buddy Murphy

Drew Gulak is shown backstage talking about Kalisto not making it last week against Cedric Alexander.  He talks about Kalisto getting lucky last week with his flipping and flopping, but that won't be the case this week.  He says that once Kalisto enters the ring, he's finished.

They show Buddy Murphy making his way down to the ring before showing his weigh in as he comes up at 203 pounds.  Murphy says he wants his title match.


Buddy Murphy vs. Liam Louis


Liam Louis hits Buddy Murphy before Buddy Murphy just nails him with a punch before hitting a powerbomb followed by another and another!  He goes for the pin but drops it.  The referee calls off the match here as Liam cannot continue.

Winner:  Buddy Murphy

He makes his way up the ramp where Cedric Alexander comes out.  They begin battling on the ramp before Murphy gets a kick to the face of Alexander before running backstage with Alexander in pursuit.

Next week will be Kendrick & Gallagher vs. Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik.

Cedric Alexander is interviewed backstage talking about Buddy making his move a few weeks ago.  But he didn't attack him from behind.  He welcomes him to the Age of Alexander.

Kalisto is shown on a promo talking about how he's going to beat Drew Gulak here tonight.


Drew Gulak vs. Kalisto


Drew Gulak starts the match off with some rest holds before Kalisto fights out for a hurricanrana that Gulak steps out of the way of.  Kalisto tries to kick Gulak only for him to turn him over into a half-Boston crab.  Kalisto rolls through but Gulak gets up to hit a chop in the corner.  He whips Kalisto into the corner where he eats a kick.  Kalisto his a diving arm drag.  Kalisto hits a hurricanrana sending Gulak out of the ring.  Kalisto tries for a dive outside only to land on the knee of Gulak!  Gulak brings him back inside before stomping on him.  Gulak locks in a Gorey Stretch before bringing him low for a pinfall but only gets two.  He turns it into a modified Boston Crab before Kalisto gets to the ropes.  Gulak sends Kalisto into the corner before whipping him forcefully into the other.  He brings Kalisto down and applies a backbreaker submission before transitioning into a single-leg Boston crab.  Kalisto kicks Gulak in the head before chopping at his legs.  Gulak nails a forearm strike for a two count.  Gulak begins ripping at the mask of Kalisto as the referee begins counting him down.  Kalisto whips Gulak off of him.  Kalisto hits a springboard dropkick that sends Gulak outside.  He springs over for a springboard armdrag!  Kalisto hits a springboard crossbody.  Gulak is pinned for a two count before rolling out of the ring.  Kalisto hits a springboard moonsault onto Gulak on the outside.

Kalisto rolls him inside for a two count.  Kalisto begins pumping up the crowd with Lucha chants.  Gulak reverses the Salida Del Sol for a pin for two.  Kalisto hits a sunset flip powerbomb for a two count!  Kalisto begins hitting some strikes.  He hits a basement hurricanrana.  Kalisto tries for a springboard move, but Gulak catches him.  Gulak locks in the Gulock!  The dragon sleeper does the job as Kalisto taps out!

Winner:  Drew Gulak

After the match, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik come out to check on Kalisto as Drew Gulak leaves up the ramp.
