WWE has released Steve Lombardi, better known as the The Brooklyn Brawler after 30 years with the company, according to PWInsider.

Lombardi was actually among those released last week, but WWE did not make it public knowledge on their website, like the eight talent releases.

Lombardi, who makes occasional appearance on WWE television as his Brawler persona has largely been working backstage overseeing and producing promos in recent years. He was seen as somebody who has had great influence over whether new talent get a bigger look in from the company.
