During the Neville vs. Luke Harper match on Monday night's edition of WWE Raw, which was one of the quarterfinal matches in the 2015 King of the Ring tournament, announcers JBL and Booker T were discussing how Neville could potentially become the first "high flying" King of the Ring. JBL then commented that the late Owen Hart was also a high flyer during his time, but not like Neville. Booker then responded by saying that Hart "didn't defy gravity" like Neville did.

This led to a huge amount of heat from fans via social media, as well as at Raw itself, as there was an awkward pause after Booker's comment was made, which has led to speculation that something may have been said over Booker's headset after the fact, despite the fact that the comment appeared to be completely innocent in nature.

Booker has since taken to his official Twitter page to offer the following apology:

I would never say anything to disrespect the legacy of Owen Hart. If I did offend anyone, I apologize.
