American radio sports talk-show host, Mark Madden is reporting that TNA starĀ Austin Aries will be disciplined for theĀ 'Crotch-Gate'Ā incident involving Christy Hemme at last weekās Impact Wrestling taping in Tupelo, Mississippi. The companies top heel took his gimmickĀ too far when TNA ring announcer Christy HemmeĀ incorrectly introduced Aries and tag team partner Bobby Roode as Kazarian and Daniels.
He cornered the Knockout, who corrected herself accordingly. Aries then stood atop the second turnbuckle, allowing her to gaze directly into his crouch.
Her nervous laughter made it clear that this was not a work.
David Schwarz, Spike TVās senior VP/communications, told Madden:
āWe discussed [the incident] with our partner. [Aries is] being disciplined. Iām trying to get more information on what action is being taken. Dixie Carter took this very personally. He will be disciplined. Again, we have a zero tolerance policy for sexual harassment.
āIām not sure specifically how [the discipline] will be handled. To what extent, I donāt know. This is certainly something we donāt condone and donāt tolerate. Such behavior is not welcome."
It was suggested that, since Hemme was harassed on national TV, Ariesā discipline should be made public. Schwarz responded:
āI think that a statement of some sort will be coming. Thatās being worked out. But immediate action will be taken.ā
