The Rock and Brock Lesnar are reportedly being booked for the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view because CM Punk is not scheduled for the event.

Internally there is some suspicion surrounding CM Punk's status, some believe he is working inured and hurting more then he is letting on while others believe he is dealing with minor injuries but is mentally burnout and needs time off to rest.

Rock and Lesnar are not expected to main event the pay-per-view together although there are long terms plans to have them wrestle down the line.
