A strong rumor suggests that Dustin Runnels, better known as Goldust has been released from his WWE contract according to a number of sources. A week ago Kevin Nash tweeted a "dear friend" had been let go by WWE and Runnels appears to be that friend. Â Runnels was a producer for the SmackDown brand and was last seen on RAW Supershow on April 9th, 2012 when he and other WWE officials attempted to break up the brawl between Brock Lesnar and John Cena.
Runnels has been promoting a new twitter account of late @DRHODES_SAYS moving away from his WWE account @WWEGoldust which is followed by 180,000 fans.
His latest WWE release will be his fith:
- 1991 to join WCW; he left WCW in ‘95 to return to WWE.
- 1999 to return to WCW; he left WCW in 2001 to return to WWE.
- 2003, where he would work the Independent Circuit and TNA until returning to the WWE in 2005.
- 2006, when he left for Japan and another brief TNA run.
More WWE releases are expected in the coming weeks.
