The Marine Goes Unscreened, OVW Pressured, Kanyon Responds To Cena

Posted By: wrestling-radio.com on Oct 13, 2006

According to movie website The-Numbers.com, The Marine has yet to be screened by critics. The site is saying that the ad campaign has not be strong enough to compensate for the stigma that usually causes. Nonetheless, the movie will still draw in some people and they are projecting it to take in $7 million over the weekend and roughly $20 million overall. Including ad costs, The Marine would probably need to take in between $30-$40 million before it saw profit. It's highly unlikely that the movie will break even from box office receipts, but the forthcoming DVD sales should help recoup the losses.

WWE is pressuring Ohio Valley Wrestling to not use so much talent that's not under WWE contract for their television shows. Just the other week they used The Heart Throbs' Romeo Roselli as he wrestled Paul Burchill in a losing effort. They also used Chad and Tank Toland quite a bit after they were released from their WWE contracts earlier this year. However, there are two notable exceptions to this rule in the form of women wrestlers Serena (who is quite over with the fans) and ODB.

Chris Kanyon appeared on the The Superfan Roundtable on Sirius' Howard101 channel yesterday. A caller asked Kanyon about John Cena's appearance on Howard Stern's show earlier this week, specifically Cena's comments on Kanyon. On Stern's show, Cena said that Kanyon wasn't fired for "coming out", but because he just wasn't too good. Cena also claimed that he had never used anabolic steroids. Kanyon didn't seem too upset regarding the comments Cena made about him because he needs to tow the company line, but he lost all respect for Cena by saying that he never took steroids because Kanyon believes he did.
