Atticus Cogar Regains GCW Championship As Mance Warner And EFFY Return

Atticus Cogar reclaimed the GCW Championship at The Crossroads, but his victory was quickly overshadowed by the return of Mance Warner and EFFY.

Cogar defeated TNA’s Joseph Sawyer in the main event, delivering an air raid crash through a pane of glass before following up with a side headlock DDT onto the glass-covered canvas to secure the title.

The result prevented Sawyer from leaving with the championship, which he had intended to take with him if he won.

Sawyer’s reign had come under scrutiny following GCW Score on September 26. During his title defence against John Jeffrey, he walked out after suffering an apparent knee injury. A frustrated Sawyer initially suggested he could be sidelined for months, but later said he would be fine and went on to fulfil other bookings.

With Cogar bringing the championship back into the hands of a GCW regular, there was little time to celebrate. Warner and EFFY returned and attacked the newly crowned champion, bringing the show to a dramatic close.

Neither Warner nor EFFY had wrestled for GCW since WrestleMania weekend in April.

What did you make of Cogar’s title win and the return of Warner and EFFY? Share your thoughts in the comments.
