Some of WWE’s biggest names could still have years left in the ring, although CM Punk’s next chapter may look different.
Speaking on Fightful Select’s Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp discussed the possible retirement timelines for Punk, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. His comments offered a mix of contract details and predictions, rather than confirmed farewell plans.
Orton, 46, previously said in 2022 that he wanted to wrestle for another ten years. Sapp noted that he has at least three years remaining on his WWE contract. His reported five-year extension, signed in 2024, would keep him with the company until around 2029, when he turns 49.
Rollins also appears to have plenty of time ahead. According to Sapp, the 40-year-old’s current deal runs for at least another three years, taking him to around 43.
For Reigns, a lighter schedule could help extend his career considerably. Sapp indicated that WWE is happy for the 41-year-old to continue his part-time arrangement “as long as they will have him” and predicted that retirement could still be another decade away.
Punk’s situation prompted a different prediction. Sapp suggested that the 48-year-old could have his “full-time farewell” when his current contract ends. That would not necessarily mean retiring from wrestling altogether.
Punk reportedly signed a three-year deal when he returned to WWE in late 2023. However, he said last year that the company was trying to persuade him to agree to a new five-year contract, leaving the timing uncertain.
For now, none of the four has a confirmed retirement date outlined in this report.
