Melina has ruled out a return to wrestling, explaining that she no longer feels the drive needed to compete and would not want to let her fans down.
During a TikTok Q&A, the former WWE Women’s and Divas Champion addressed the comeback questions she continues to receive. While she still enjoys wrestling and being around the business, stepping back into the ring does not appeal to her.
“So I’m not going back to the ring. Everyone keeps asking me this and I say no, no. I love to watch, I love to … just be around it. Now, I think those days is just different. I don’t have the hunger and you need the hunger,” Melina said.
She explained that a wrestler’s passion is part of what makes their performances special for fans.
“You need that because you see it. So, when you watch your favorite wrestlers wrestling, if they don’t, they have that hunger. That’s what makes it even better to watch.”
For Melina, returning without that motivation would risk disappointing the people who have supported her.
“So, I don’t have that. So, I disappoint you guys and I don’t wanna do that. I like talking,” she added.
Melina arrived in WWE in 2005 as the manager of MNM, alongside John Morrison and Joey Mercury. She went on to win the Women’s Championship three times and the Divas Championship twice before her release in August 2011. Her most recent WWE appearance came in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.
She has also explored ways to share her experiences outside the ring. Speaking to WrestlingNews.co’s The Velvet Ropes last year, Melina revealed plans for “Unwritten”, a live stage show featuring stories from her career.

“Todos continuam me perguntando isso e eu digo ‘não’.
Eu já não tenho mais esse desejo, e para estar lutando é necessário ter ‘o desejo’. Eu não gostaria de desapontá-los”.
