Nikki Bella has spoken out about an unpleasant airport encounter in Mexico City, saying a disagreement in the customs queue ended with another traveller repeatedly hitting her ankles with his luggage cart.
Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, the WWE Hall of Famer recalled passengers being directed into a single line. According to Bella, one man believed she had moved ahead of him and took his frustration out on her.
“He starts to slam his cart into the back of my ankles. And I look, I’m like, ‘Are you serious?’ And he’s just giving me this look and hitting me.”
Bella said a customs officer eventually stepped in and allowed her to move forward. The incident prompted a wider discussion about manners, respect and how people treat one another.
For Bella, women wanting equal pay and career opportunities should not mean losing the gestures of courtesy she values.
“Even though women are asking to have equal pay and to get the same opportunities, doesn’t mean all of a sudden treat us like a man. You still want to treat a woman as a woman,” she explained.
The former Divas Champion had a blunt response for men who behave in the way she described.
“If you’re going to do that stuff, you’re just a piece of st. You’re a piece of st,” Bella said.
She also pointed to everyday examples of consideration, including waiting your turn to leave a plane, stopping at traffic signals and holding doors open.
Her message about that final gesture left little room for misunderstanding.
“If you’ve got nuts and a dk, open the f***g door for a woman. Come on, bro.”
Bella’s frustration went beyond the customs queue. She wanted to make the point that equal opportunities and everyday courtesy can go hand in hand.
