WWE NXT celebrated Halloween with a packed Halloween Havoc event from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, with Danhausen hosting the festivities.
Grayson Waller defended the NXT Championship against Tony DâAngelo, while Wren Sinclair challenged Kelani Jordan for the NXT Womenâs Championship. The six-match card also featured a Weapons Wild battle, a special Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal stipulation and Shiloh Hillâs attempt to overcome Narakuâs mysterious mist.
The event aired on The CW and ESPN Unlimited in the United States and Netflix internationally, with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern.
Vic Joseph introduced the evening with an arrivals montage before a video highlighted the biggest rivalries heading into the show.
Danhausen then arrived with a parade of MiniHausens and revealed that he had transformed parts of the Performance Center into scare rooms. His appearance followed Fridayâs SmackDown, where an attack by Gunther had brought out âThe Demonâ Finn Balor.
Halloween Havoc opened with Tavion Heights wearing a Freddy Krueger-inspired singlet, while Myles Borne entered in a Jason-style mask and blood-splattered white gear.
Borne immediately reached for a kendo stick, but Heights answered with a blast from a fire extinguisher. A crutch also came into play before the fight moved to ringside.
During the picture-in-picture break, Heights brought more weapons into the ring. He earned a two-count with a Northern Lights suplex, but an attempted lawn dart ended with him crashing into a chair positioned in the corner.
Heights introduced a toolbox, only for Borne to strike him with it. Borne then attempted Borne Again, but Heights countered and dropped him onto metal pieces emptied from a black bag for another near fall.
Borne fought back with a powerslam and later tried to secure a pin by piling the steel steps and a chair on top of Heights. Heights escaped, then targeted Borneâs leg with a chair before applying an ankle lock.
Borne reached the ropes, but the stipulation meant there was no rope break. Heights dragged him back towards the centre, only for Borne to send him into an exposed turnbuckle.
The action escalated when Heights attempted a superplex from the top rope through a table at ringside. Borne grabbed a camera and struck Heights, sending him crashing through the table instead.
Borne followed with Borne Again to secure the victory.
Result: Myles Borne defeated Tavion Heights in a Weapons Wild Match.
Backstage, Tristan Angels found himself frightened inside one of Danhausenâs scare rooms.
A video revisited Halloween Havoc history before cameras caught Shiloh Hill and Naraku fighting backstage. Naraku searched for Hill inside the scare rooms and discovered him surrounded by pumpkins and covered in orange mist.
A âTo Be Continuedâ graphic left their encounter unresolved as the show moved to the next match.
Izzi Dame, dressed as the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz, tried to keep her distance from Zaria early on. Zaria eventually caught her and took control with strikes on the mat.
Zaria continued the pressure with a choke in the corner, draping Dame over the ropes. During the picture-in-picture break, she also picked up a near fall with a schoolgirl pin.
Dame fought back by trapping Zaria in the tree of woe and delivering a spear. An avalanche Codebreaker brought Dame another close two-count.
The decisive distraction came when Dame reached for a North American title belt. The referee intervened, allowing Zaria to connect with a discus lariat.
However, Zaria then picked up the belt herself. That moment gave Dame the opening to land a Busaiku knee and claim the pinfall.
Result: Izzi Dame defeated Zaria by pinfall to earn a future title opportunity.
Hank and Tank stood beside the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic trophy as Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno joined them. The exchange included a reference to Dustyâs âthe view never changesâ promo.
Elsewhere, Vanity Project complained to Robert Stone, with a match against Fenix, Gable and Dragon Lee announced.
The Halloween-themed Busted Open panel featured Dave LaGreca dressed as Cody Rhodes, Blake Howard as Mean Gene and Tatum as an axe murderer.
Danhausen then spun the wheel for Zilla Fatu and Charlie Dempsey. It landed on a Very Nice, Very Evil Match, with falls count anywhere rules.
Zilla made his entrance dressed as Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.
Charlie Dempsey started strongly with a gutwrench suplex, but Zilla Fatu countered an attempted hip toss with one of his own.
Dempsey avoided a headbutt while positioned in the tree of woe and sent Zilla into a metal grate in the corner.
Zilla recovered to deliver a lariat and a senton to Dempsey before also dealing with Stacks and King.
Keeping with his Scorpion-inspired appearance, Zilla used a chain to pull Dempsey towards him for a âget over hereâ Samoan drop.
Zilla followed with Triple Z and an Uso splash to finish the match.
Result: Zilla Fatu defeated Charlie Dempsey by pinfall.
Shiloh Hill continued exploring Danhausenâs collection of strange rooms, including one filled with tubes, as his encounter with Naraku carried on throughout the evening.
Tony DâAngelo prepared backstage for his NXT Championship challenge.
Michael Chandler appeared in a promo filmed at a gym and spoke about being there for Robert Stone. In another segment recorded earlier in the day, Cruz Montana confronted Dion Lennox, who said he wanted the original version of Montana.
Chantel Monroe received a fright from the women backstage before a video set up the NXT Womenâs Championship match.
Meanwhile, Hill and Narakuâs fight moved through a closet and into a blue-lit room, where a masked figure directed Naraku after Hill.
Kelani Jordan and Wren Sinclair traded momentum in the opening exchanges before Sinclair connected with a baseball slide heading into a commercial break.
Sinclair delivered a facebuster reminiscent of Scotty 2 Hotty for a two-count. Jordan responded with a double-jump crossbody and a Northern Lights suplex, also earning a near fall.
Jordan began focusing on Sinclairâs arm, attacking it with a hip attack as she came back into the ring.
The champion continued that strategy with a Fujiwara armbar, but Sinclair countered into a cradle for two. Sinclair then hit the Bang-a-Rang for another close near fall.
Sinclair applied the Last Wrench, forcing Jordan to reach for the ropes. Jordan then pulled her challenger into an exposed turnbuckle and landed a 450 splash, but Sinclair narrowly kicked out.
Sinclair returned to the Final Wrench, with the two rolling through the hold. Jordan ultimately secured the pinfall with her foot on the rope to retain her championship.
Result: Kelani Jordan defeated Wren Sinclair by pinfall to retain the NXT Womenâs Championship.
After their ongoing battle through the backstage scare rooms, Shiloh Hill finally found an answer to Narakuâs mist.
Naraku attempted to use it, but Hill countered with a burst of fog from his own mouth.
Hill followed with a back suplex into a neckbreaker and scored the pinfall.
Result: Shiloh Hill defeated Naraku by pinfall.
Following the womenâs title match, Wren Sinclair approached Robert Stone, who said he was âon the phone with CM Punkâ.
Stone also spoke with Kelani Jordan about appearing on other shows and confirmed that she would defend her championship against a mystery opponent on NXT.
On the panel, Tatum hinted that she could be the challenger.
Elsewhere, Kam Hendrix discussed cloning Danhausen as a way to make money. His evening then took a turn when EK Prosper attacked him inside a room that had suddenly emptied.
Grayson Waller and Tony DâAngelo quickly took their championship fight outside the ring.
Waller attempted a piledriver on the steel steps, but DâAngelo escaped and sent the champion to the floor with a backdrop before the commercial break.
Waller later drove DâAngelo into the pumpkin-themed section of the LED board and taunted his family at ringside. DâAngelo responded by taking the fight straight back to Waller in front of them.
DâAngelo connected with an avalanche belly-to-belly suplex, while Waller answered with a Diamond Dust for a two-count.
The champion then reached for a crowbar in the corner. Following a forearm exchange, DâAngelo rocked him with a spear.
At ringside, Waller delivered a rolling thunder cutter from the steel steps, sending DâAngelo through the announce table.
The crowbar remained central to the closing moments. As both men fought over it, the referee was knocked down.
Waller missed a crowbar shot, allowing DâAngelo to hit another spear. With the referee down, however, there was nobody available to count the pin.
Waller capitalised by striking DâAngelo with the crowbar before connecting with the rolling thunder stunner to retain his title.
Result: Grayson Waller defeated Tony DâAngelo by pinfall to retain the NXT Championship.
Wallerâs celebration came with a major warning.
Danhausen announced that the champion would defend against his friend CM Punk on Wednesday, making it clear that Punk would be coming for the NXT Championship.
Halloween Havoc ended with Waller still holding the gold, but facing a huge challenge in his next title defence.
