WWE ID has reportedly lost two more names, including its first men’s champion, Cappuccino Jones.
According to PWInsider, Jones and Santi Rivera have departed WWE’s Independent Development programme. The news follows Laynie Luck’s announcement less than a week ago that her deal had not been renewed. Luck was the longest-reigning WWE ID Women’s Champion since the title was introduced.
Jones held the men’s WWE ID Championship from August 2025 until March 2026. The Oklahoma wrestler was part of the programme’s original group of signees and currently holds the Reality of Wrestling Texas Championship.
Rivera joined WWE ID in early 2026. He is from Massachusetts and began his wrestling journey at the New England Pro Wrestling Academy.
The departures come around two years after WWE announced the programme, which provides financial support and other benefits to independent wrestlers. Although WWE ID agreements are not full-time contracts, they offer a potential route to a full-time NXT deal. Wrestlers involved in the programme also regularly appear on WWE Evolve.
Jones and Rivera join Luck, Marcus Mathers and Sam “Hardway” Holloway among the recent departures. Meanwhile, Richard Adonis, Monica Monroe, Josiah Jean and Conan Lycan have joined the programme.
