TNA Wrestling has apologised for Max Caster’s rap at Bound For Glory and confirmed he will no longer wrestle for the company.
In a statement issued on Monday, TNA addressed comments Caster made about deadly attacks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during Sunday’s pay-per-view. The company accepted responsibility for the segment airing and said it had been removed from replays and its social media channels.
TNA’s statement, shared via False Finish, read:
“During Sunday’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view, insensitive comments were made by Max Caster referencing attacks in Riyadh that killed and injured many people. Making light of violent attacks is wrong. This should never have made it into the show, and that responsibility is ours. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected. We sincerely apologize. We have removed the segment from replays and our social channels and are taking steps to ensure something like this never happens again. Max Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.”
The announcement followed a Fightful Select report that Caster’s reference to Riyadh had not been scripted or approved by TNA beforehand.
TNA did not outline the specific measures it plans to introduce, but said it is taking steps to prevent a similar incident.
