Cody Rhodes has put rumours of a backstage rift with Travis Scott to rest, saying he would welcome the rapper back to WWE.
Speaking on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping, Rhodes revisited his earlier joke about banning Scott’s trainers from his home following their WWE storyline. He made it clear that their on-screen clash had not caused any personal problems.
“There was never any heat. We love Travis Scott. I’d like to see Travis Scott back doing something with WWE. He’s wonderful,” he said.
Scott joined The Rock and John Cena in attacking Rhodes at Elimination Chamber in Toronto in March 2025. During the segment, Scott slapped Rhodes, leaving the then-Undisputed WWE Champion with a black eye ahead of WrestleMania 41.
Rhodes joked that Scott’s trainers had been put aside for a while afterwards, although Brandi Rhodes continued wearing hers.
He also revealed a backstage gesture that gave him a lasting appreciation for Scott. During the attack, with Drake watching from the front row, Rhodes lost his watch.
“I was laying there getting my ass kicked, but my watch came off,” Rhodes explained.
Rhodes recalled that Cena had apparently used the watch during the attack before it came loose. While Rhodes was receiving treatment backstage, Scott picked it up and made sure it was returned.
“Travis is the one who got the watch, put it in his pocket, and made sure it got back to me. That’s man stuff. That’s pro. So I always appreciated that greatly,” Rhodes added.
For Rhodes, that small act helped build mutual respect and a bond between the two performers.
Scott later appeared at WrestleMania 41, helping Cena defeat Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. Despite their rivalry on screen, Rhodes is open to seeing him involved again.
