Sam “Hardway” Holloway has confirmed his departure from WWE ID, bringing his two-year spell with the programme to a close.
The 26-year-old announced the news on social media, thanking WWE ID for the opportunities and experiences he gained while making it clear he is excited about his next chapter.
“My time in the WWE ID Program has come to an end,” Holloway announced. “Thank you for an incredible two years filled with unforgettable experiences, opportunities, and lessons that will stay with me throughout my career. I’m beyond grateful for this chapter, but even more excited for what’s ahead. The work continues and I’m ready to takeover!”
Holloway trained with Cleveland’s Absolute Intense Wrestling and began competing in 2022. He joined WWE ID in 2024, shortly after the programme launched.
His announcement follows the recent departures of Marcus Mathers and former WWE ID Women’s Champion Laynie Luck. Mathers joined the programme at the same time as Holloway, with both his and Luck’s exits announced over the past week.
The recent departures have reportedly prompted questions and concerns within WWE about the programme.
WWE ID provides independent wrestlers with financial support and other resources, along with opportunities to appear on WWE Evolve. Its deals are not full-time WWE contracts, but the programme offers a potential route to NXT if WWE chooses to sign a talent.
Recruitment has also continued, with Monica Monroe, Josiah Jean and Conan Lycan recently joining WWE ID.
