“Speedball” Mike Bailey has plenty of ideas for his next major AEW rivalry, including a lengthy programme with his new ally Will Ospreay.

Speaking on the Battleground Podcast, Bailey discussed the opponents he would love to build a story with over several months. While several familiar names came to mind, he made it clear that AEW’s roster leaves him spoilt for choice.

“Who wouldn’t I want to have a six-month-long feud with in AEW? And there are very, very few people, and I think that’s what’s beautiful about All Elite Wrestling, is you’ve got all the best wrestlers just in one company. So there are no bad answers. There are no bad matches that I can have. I can’t think of one person with whom I wouldn’t love to have a nice six-month in-depth program.”

Bailey recently accepted AEW World Champion Ospreay’s invitation to join United Empire. However, that partnership has not stopped him from seeing the potential in a sustained rivalry between them.

He also pointed to ongoing tensions with Kyle Fletcher, unfinished business with former tag team partner Kevin Knight, and his encounters with Jon Moxley.

“Listen, I can just start naming people if you’d like. We talked about Will Ospreay, would be great. Kyle Fletcher, he and I have had an ongoing rivalry for a while. Kevin Knight and I have unfinished business. Jon Moxley is someone for whom I have great respect, and we’ve been getting into each other’s way on and off for the past six months.”

His history with members of the Don Callis Family offers further possibilities, particularly Josh Alexander and former partner Jake Doyle.

“I mean, all the other Death Riders, the Don Callis Family. Josh Alexander and I have a long storied history. Jake Doyle and I also have a long storied history. We were a tag team and now he’s turned his back on me and joined the Don Callis Family.”

Bailey also singled out Bryan Keith, explaining that their matches before AEW make him keen to revisit that pairing on a bigger stage.

“Bryan Keith is someone who people might not expect, but he and I had some amazing matches before we joined AEW, and I would love to get into a very long program with him. I could go on and on and on and just name the whole roster.”

For now, Bailey and Ospreay are finding success together. They defeated Claudio Castagnoli and Gabe Kidd in Wednesday’s Dynamite main event, following Bailey’s singles victory over Wheeler Yuta at the September 19 Collision taping.

Bailey also picked up a win at Arena Mexico on September 13, teaming with Místico to defeat Averno and Kevin Knight.
