Sin Cara is open to a WWE comeback and says he would “love” another chance to bring the masked character to life.

Speaking on TMZ’s Inside the Ring, the former WWE star explained that age and experience have changed his outlook since leaving the company in 2019.

“I mean, I think I’ve gotten more mature now. When you’re younger, you do a lot of decisions for your emotions. I get that as you get older, as your kids get older and you’re in time, you’re out of that big monster, you realize a lot of things. For me, I wouldn’t mind coming back.

“If they would ask me or we would talk, ‘Hey, you want to portray Sin Cara again?’ I would love to do that definitely again and give it another shot.”

Sin Cara publicly requested his WWE release on November 11, 2019, saying he felt “stuck” and undervalued as an athlete and entertainer. The company granted his request the following month.

Several years later, he is keeping an open mind about a second opportunity, although he did not announce any plans for a return.

“Maybe this time that opportunity can come, you know, but I don’t know. Only God has that answer. The other thing that I can do is keep preparing myself to continue doing what I love, which is wrestling.”

He also admitted that the possibility crosses his mind.

“It’s something that I really think about sometimes in my head. Like, what if this and what if that happen? And in wrestling, anything is possible. You understand that?”

Beyond his own future, Sin Cara wants more Mexican and Latino wrestlers to have the chance to show what they can do. Discussing opportunities for those talents, he said:

“He got the opportunity to become a star. That’s all we’ve asked all this time. All I ask is an opportunity. All I ask for the new generation is an opportunity for the Mexican kids or Latino kids to showcase their talent. That’s all we’ve asked all this time. And hopefully that time has come now.”
