AEW Dynamite faced tough competition from the NFL season opener on September 9, with its TBS audience falling to its lowest level in three months.
Wednesday’s episode averaged 571,000 viewers, a 28.3% drop from the previous week. The show also recorded a 0.10 rating among adults aged 18 to 49, down 33.3% and matching its lowest rating since July 1.
Despite those declines, Dynamite still finished second on cable in its time slot.
The NFL’s Super Bowl rematch between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks drew a reported audience of more than 25 million across NBC and Peacock, providing significant competition for AEW.
Compared with the same week in 2025, when Dynamite did not face NFL competition, total viewership was down 2.2%. The rating among adults aged 18 to 49 fell 23.1%.
