Rusev is reportedly closing in on his WWE return, but his future alongside Ethan Page remains uncertain.
The pair worked together on Monday Night RAW before Rusev’s absence. However, according to WrestleVotes, WWE does not currently list them as an official tag team.
Speaking during a WrestleVotes Q&A, the following update was shared:
“They’re not officially listed as a tag team. Rusev’s been out of action for over a month now, and he’s due back relatively soon. It’s not known if they will be a tag team going forward, but they are not an official tag team right now.”
While a reunion remains possible, the report offers no confirmation that their partnership will resume when Rusev returns.
There is more encouraging news about his recovery. During an appearance on NotSam Wrestling, CJ Perry revealed that Rusev had received medical clearance following a visit to the WWE Performance Center.
“I know he went to the PC last week and got cleared. He had a little bit of another health issue going on too. But he’s cleared now. He went to the Performance Center.”
Perry also explained that Rusev planned to train with NXT in Orlando and at Natalya’s Dungeon 2.0 to prepare for his next television appearance.
“Next week he’ll go to Orlando and train in NXT all week long, going to Nattie’s Dungeon 2.0, because when he gets called, he wants to be as snappy, aggressive, fast, and calculative as possible. He wants to live up to being that super athlete.”
Rusev has been out of action since facing Je’Von Evans on the July 27 episode of RAW. He reportedly landed awkwardly on his neck and experienced numbness in his hands, but completed the match before receiving medical attention backstage.
With clearance secured and further training planned, Rusev is preparing to return. Whether that comeback includes another run alongside Page remains an open question.
