Omos made it back-to-back Copa Bardahl victories at Triplemania 34 night two, with the battle royal also featuring the return of Niño Hamburguesa.
After winning the trophy last year, Omos repeated that success on Sunday by last eliminating Hamburguesa. The giant faced little resistance for much of the contest, although Mascarita Sagrada showed no shortage of fighting spirit.
In the closing stages, Omos eliminated Mr. Iguana before throwing Sagrada from his shoulders to the floor. Hamburguesa was the final man standing in his way, but Omos sent him out to secure another victory.
The entrants, in order, were Mr. Iguana, Abismo Negro, Histeria, Mascarita Sagrada, Taurus, El Fiscal, Laredo Kid, Mecha Wolf, La Parka, Dinamico, Texano Jr., Omos, Chris Carter and Niño Hamburguesa.
Hamburguesa’s appearance marked his return following his dismissal from AAA in March. His departure came after footage surfaced showing him striking a fan at an AAA-affiliated independent event in Mexico.
For Omos, the win capped a dominant Triplemania weekend that began with a major victory over Rey Mysterio in the main event of night one.
His place in AAA was at stake in that match, with a win securing his reinstatement. However, beating Mysterio did little to satisfy him.
Omos continued attacking the AAA General Manager after the bell. With Mysterio strapped to a gurney, he pushed officials aside, grabbed him and delivered a chokeslam through the announce table to close the show.
With his reinstatement secured and another Copa Bardahl victory behind him, Omos left Triplemania with plenty of momentum.
