WWE has provided a storyline update on Kendal Grey following her NXT Women’s Championship loss at NXT Heatwave 2026.
Grey lost the championship to Kelani Jordan at Heatwave, bringing her title reign to an end after nearly 63 days.
During the September 1 episode of WWE NXT, commentator Vic Joseph revealed that Grey has now been ruled out of action for the foreseeable future.
According to the storyline update, Grey is suffering from vertigo after being sent headfirst into the steel ring post during her match with Jordan.
The situation has also been linked to an ear injury Grey previously suffered during her brutal NXT Underground match against Lola Vice.
Joseph explained that WWE's medical team has ruled out concussion-related issues. However, examinations reportedly discovered a disruption to Grey's vestibular system, which plays an important role in balance and spatial awareness.
As a result, Grey is dealing with equilibrium problems and will remain away from NXT until further notice.
The former champion had already spoken about continuing to experience problems with her ear ahead of Heatwave.
Grey originally defeated Lola Vice to capture the NXT Women’s Championship and went on to successfully defend the title three times before Jordan ended her reign.
There is currently no storyline timetable for when Grey will be cleared to return.
