Next week’s WWE NXT is already shaping up to be a big night, with two championship matches confirmed and a six-man tag team match carrying major NXT title implications.

The main event scene became crowded during the closing moments of Tuesday’s NXT when new NXT Champion Grayson Waller made his way to the ring following his championship victory at Heatwave.

Waller celebrated his success and challenged anyone who believed they were worthy of stepping up to face him.

He quickly got more responses than he may have expected.

EK Prosper, Mason Rook, Tony D’Angelo, Saquon Shugars and Cruz Montana all emerged looking to put themselves into the championship picture.

Keanu Carver then joined the situation and proposed a six-man tag team match for next week.

NXT General Manager Robert Stone agreed, adding Carver to the match and raising the stakes considerably.

The three wrestlers on the winning team will advance to a Triple Threat match on the September 15 episode of NXT. The winner of that match will become the new number one contender for Waller’s NXT Championship.

Two championships will also be defended on September 8.

New NXT North American Champion Jackson Drake will put his title on the line against Tavion Heights.

Drake captured the championship from Myles Borne at Heatwave on Sunday, but the former champion responded by turning against Heights and attacking him after the match.

Meanwhile, newly crowned NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan will make a title defence against Jaida Parker.

Jordan and Parker exchanged words during Tuesday’s show, leading to Parker getting her championship opportunity.

Jordan accepted the challenge but made it clear the match would happen on her terms, choosing next week rather than defending the championship immediately.

The confirmed WWE NXT card for September 8:

• Mason Rook, Keanu Carver, Tony D’Angelo, EK Prosper, Saquon Shugars and Cruz Montana compete in a six-man tag team match. The winning team advances to a Triple Threat number one contender’s match on September 15.

• NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan defends against Jaida Parker.

• NXT North American Champion Jackson Drake defends against Tavion Heights.

With two championships at stake and Grayson Waller’s next challenger beginning to take shape, next week could have a major impact on the future of NXT.
