Finn Bálor has made his feelings about Sami Zayn very clear after Zayn ruined a huge championship opportunity on the August 28 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Bálor entered Friday night's show with a major opportunity ahead of him. He faced Kevin Owens and Gunther in a Triple Threat Match, with the winner set to become the new No. 1 contender for CM Punk's Undisputed WWE Championship.
All three men were fighting for the chance to move into the world title picture, and Bálor appeared to be closing in on what could have been a massive victory.
However, Sami Zayn had other ideas.
Zayn suddenly appeared and attacked all three competitors, bringing the match to a chaotic halt. Several referees also became caught up in the mayhem as officials desperately tried to regain control of the situation.
CM Punk eventually made his way to the ring to confront Zayn, but that only caused things to escalate further.
Zayn got his hands on the Undisputed WWE Championship and used the title as a weapon, attacking Punk, Bálor, Owens and Gunther. By the end of the wild scene, all four men had been left down.
With the match completely derailed, officials ruled the Triple Threat a no contest, meaning there was no new No. 1 contender crowned.
Bálor has now responded to what happened, and he clearly has not forgotten about Zayn costing him his opportunity.
Taking to Instagram, the former Judgment Day member shared several photographs from the match. They included shots of Bálor delivering the Coup de Grâce to both Gunther and Owens, highlighting just how close he may have been to securing the victory.
However, another photograph showed the moment Zayn struck Bálor with the championship belt.
Bálor kept his accompanying message extremely short:
“Sami Zayn 🤬”
Sometimes, two words and an emoji say everything.
The frustrated reaction makes it clear that Bálor is far from pleased about Zayn interfering in one of his biggest opportunities in recent months.
With Bálor, Owens and Gunther all denied a potential championship match because of Zayn's actions, Sami may now have several angry WWE Superstars looking for revenge.
