Val Venis has fired back at Mike Bailey after the AEW star criticised the state of social media, with the former WWE Superstar taking aim at Bailey’s non-binary identity.

Bailey recently spoke about the amount of trolling and rage-baiting he sees on X/Twitter, calling the platform an “awful” place despite acknowledging its importance for wrestlers connecting with fans.

Venis responded by making Bailey’s gender identity the focus of his remarks.

“Apparently Speedball identifies as non-binary. Being a MAN is AWESOME! I don’t understand why this guy is so afraid of embracing being a MAN!”
Bailey’s original comments came during an interview with POST Wrestling ahead of AEW All In London, where he criticised the direction social media has taken.

“Twitter, for many, many reasons, is an awful, awful place. The algorithm is politically biased and ruined, and most people on it are just rage-baiting and bad and trolling. It’s a terrible place.”
Despite those frustrations, Bailey has no plans to disappear from social media. He believes platforms such as X remain important for wrestlers who want to continue engaging with fans once the television cameras stop rolling.

Instead, Bailey tries to use his own account positively while avoiding the trolling and outrage he believes has taken over much of the platform.

Venis’ response has now added another layer to Bailey’s comments, with the former WWE Intercontinental Champion publicly questioning Bailey over their non-binary identity.

As of writing, Bailey has not publicly responded to Venis.
