Bret Hart’s legendary grudges have been given the full parody treatment, with comedian Kyle Fields taking aim at Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels and Goldberg in a savage new video.
Fields recently shared an Instagram clip while dressed as The Hitman during a visit to Half Price Books in Lexington, Kentucky. The concept was simple: pick up random titles and somehow connect them to people Hart has famously criticised over the years.
It did not take long for things to get wild.
After spotting a copy of The Beverly Hillbillies, Fields immediately brought Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels into the joke.
“We’re at Half Price Books in Lexington, Kentucky. Look at this. You know, Vince loved hillbillies. He also loved to have sex with Shawn Michaels.”
Michaels remained firmly in the firing line when Fields found a copy of CSI.
“CSI. I’ll tell you who’s seen a lot of jizz, it’s Shawn Michaels.”
Quantum Leap then provided another opportunity for fake Bret to take another shot at Michaels.
“Quantum Leap. I wonder if Shawn could ever leap into somebody who wasn’t gay.”
Fields briefly moved away from wrestling when he spotted Pitch Black.
“All right, there’s how I like my women, all that.”
A Betty White reference followed, with Fields joking about Vince McMahon’s booking choices.
“Vince, book somebody as the world champion. Betty White.”
Then it was Goldberg’s turn.
Fields picked up the PlayStation 2 game Gun and joked that a weapon would be the only thing capable of getting Bret Hart back into the ring with his former WCW rival.
“Gun. That’s the only way I’d get back in the ring with Bill Goldberg.”
The joke plays directly into Hart’s long-running criticism of Goldberg. The pair wrestled at WCW Starrcade in 1999, where Hart suffered a concussion following a kick from Goldberg. Hart’s health problems ultimately brought his full-time wrestling career to an end, and he has repeatedly criticised Goldberg’s safety and wrestling ability in the years since.
Fields saved one final outrageous Vince and Shawn joke for the end.
“You know, I heard that Vince was waiting to exhale as he was gargling Shawn.”
The parody works because Fields hardly needed to invent anything. Bret Hart’s outspoken opinions about McMahon, Michaels and Goldberg have been wrestling folklore for decades, and a trip around a bookstore gave the comedian plenty of ammunition.
