WWE has a busy week of television ahead, with both Raw and SmackDown already taped following Friday night's double-header at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Raw will air on Monday, August 31, while the SmackDown episode recorded in Cleveland will be broadcast on Friday, September 4.

WWE Raw spoilers for August 31:

• Royce Keys and OTM attacked The Usos backstage. Jacob Fatu arrived to chase them away before heading to the ring and calling them out.

• Raquel Rodriguez defeated Sol Ruca to retain the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship. Lyra Valkyria interfered during the match.

• Dragon Lee defeated Ethan Page, earning himself a future Intercontinental Championship opportunity.

• Roman Reigns and LA Knight shared the ring for a promo segment. Elsewhere, Solo Sikoa was discovered laid out backstage.

• A new vignette featuring Lola Vice aired.

• Dominik Mysterio faced Je'Von Evans, but the match ended by disqualification when JD McDonagh interfered. The situation quickly developed into a tag team match.

• Judgment Day's Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh defeated Je'Von Evans and Joe Hendry.

• Becky Lynch and Stephanie Vaquer were involved in a backstage segment.

• Paul Heyman delivered a backstage promo.

• Penta defeated Rey Fenix to earn a future World Championship match against Roman Reigns.

Raw ended with Reigns confronting Penta, giving fans an early taste of what is to come when the pair eventually meet for the championship.

WWE SmackDown spoilers for September 4:

• Gunther, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn all had their say as the show got underway.

• WWE Champion CM Punk spoke with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis backstage. The segment led to Johnny Gargano finally getting back to his feet after spending months "planking" during backstage appearances. Punk offered Gargano a WWE Championship match, which was enough motivation for Gargano to stand up and accept.

• Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley defeated Fatal Influence's Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.

• Chelsea Green was speaking with Nick Aldis backstage when Nia Jax interrupted.

• Nia Jax defeated Tiffany Stratton.

• Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton exchanged words ahead of their upcoming showdown.

• A Lil Yachty music video aired during the show.

• Bakusai, the new team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki, defeated The Miz and Kit Wilson in their televised in-ring debut as a team.

• Blake Monroe and Giulia were scheduled to meet again, but the match never officially got underway. Giulia attacked Monroe before the opening bell.

• CM Punk defeated Johnny Gargano to successfully retain the WWE Championship.

The night ended with another major development in the WWE Championship picture. Following his victory, Punk offered Sami Zayn a championship match in Mexico City on September 11.

With Penta earning a future opportunity against Roman Reigns on Raw and Punk putting his championship on the line against Zayn in Mexico City, WWE has already laid the groundwork for some significant matches in the weeks ahead.
