AEW had a special surprise waiting for fans in Glasgow before the cameras started rolling for Dynamite.
Ahead of the August 26 episode, Scottish wrestling favourite Grado stepped into the ring for an unadvertised dark match at the OVO Hydro.
The former TNA Wrestling star faced Nathan Cruz before AEW began taping Dynamite and Collision. Grado picked up the victory in front of his home-country crowd, giving those inside the arena an exclusive moment that will not be seen on TBS or HBO Max.
Grado was a fitting choice to get the Glasgow fans fired up. He became a major name on the Scottish wrestling scene through Insane Championship Wrestling before gaining wider recognition during his time with TNA Wrestling.
His colourful personality and famous entrance to Madonna's "Like a Prayer" helped turn him into a cult favourite with wrestling fans.
This was not Grado's first surprise appearance during an AEW event in Glasgow either.
When AEW came to Scotland in 2025, Lance Archer caused chaos by attacking wrestlers and security following a match. Grado then made an unexpected appearance, receiving a huge reaction before hitting the ring and dropping Rocky Romero with the Wee Boot.
AEW gave Grado even more time in the spotlight on this occasion.
Rather than simply making a quick appearance, the Scottish star competed in a full singles match, got the victory and celebrated with the Glasgow crowd before AEW's television tapings officially began.
The appearance came as AEW presented its final episode of Dynamite before All In at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 30.
