WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Could Reportedly Be Heading To Netflix

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Could Reportedly Be Heading To Netflix

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event could eventually find a new home on Netflix in the United States as part of a potential agreement involving Peacock.

WWE brought back Saturday Night’s Main Event in 2024, with the special airing on NBC and streaming through Peacock in the United States. Internationally, the show has also been available through YouTube in many markets.

Despite Netflix becoming a major home for WWE programming, including RAW in the United States and much of WWE’s content internationally, Saturday Night’s Main Event has remained outside the existing Netflix agreement.

However, that could potentially change.

According to The New York Times, Netflix has held discussions about bringing Peacock to its platform as the streaming giant explores new ways of working with services traditionally viewed as competitors.

The report notes that YouTube has already reached an agreement to make Peacock available through its premium service, while Roku also offers subscriptions to other streaming platforms. Netflix is reportedly considering a similar approach.

Earlier this year, Netflix integrated French broadcaster TF1 into its service, while discussions have reportedly also taken place involving Peacock and Fox One. No agreement involving Peacock has been announced at this stage.

Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters addressed the company’s willingness to consider further partnerships.

“If we see additional deals that similarly serve our members, that work for our partner, that work for us, we’ll certainly consider them.”

It remains unclear exactly how a Netflix and Peacock partnership would operate. One possibility would see Peacock programming integrated directly into Netflix, while another could allow Netflix subscribers to purchase Peacock as an additional subscription through the Netflix app.

The latter would be similar to Amazon Prime Video Channels, where customers can subscribe to additional streaming services from within Prime Video.

For WWE fans, any Peacock integration would be particularly interesting because Saturday Night’s Main Event currently streams through Peacock in the United States.

Such an agreement could therefore potentially make the WWE special accessible through Netflix, although there is currently no confirmation that Saturday Night’s Main Event itself would become part of Netflix.

The next edition of the special is scheduled for September 6 and will be presented as Sunday Night’s Main Event for the first time. WWE has currently announced three matches for the show.

What do you think? Would you prefer to have even more WWE programming available through Netflix? Let us know in the comments.
