Former WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle stepped in front of the cameras during TNA Lockdown, making a special appearance ahead of the main card.
Michelle joined Daria Rae, Matthew Rehwoldt and Tom Hannifan on the Countdown to TNA Lockdown pre-show, where the panel looked ahead to the action scheduled for the event.
Part of the discussion focused on the TNA Knockouts World Championship clash between champion Xia Brookside and challenger Elayna Black. Michelle offered her perspective on the Knockouts division, having had the opportunity to work closely with the roster since joining TNA behind the scenes.
Speaking about the talent and the added challenge presented by the steel cage, Michelle said:
“Well, I heard Daria say, ‘We have some of the most impressive talent.’ So when I get to be behind the scenes and just watch these people work every single detail from start to finish, and tonight when this cage comes down, everybody’s locked in there. And so everybody has to take their experience to a whole other level, and I’m really excited to see what they bring,” she said.
Michelle has been part of TNA Wrestling’s backstage operation since March, working as a producer and helping talent prepare for their matches and television appearances.
However, her involvement with the company may eventually extend beyond a backstage position.
The former WWE Women’s Champion has recently spoken openly about preparing for a possible return to the ring. During an interview with The Wrestling Classic, Michelle explained that working as a producer has given her the opportunity to reconnect with professional wrestling while slowly putting the pieces together for another in-ring run.
Michelle has not yet confirmed when or where a comeback match could happen, but her increased involvement with TNA and recent comments have certainly added to speculation surrounding her wrestling future.
