Representatives from TKO Group Holdings were reportedly in attendance for a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, although their presence appears to have been nothing more than a visit to check out the competition.
Bryan Alvarez revealed on X that TKO personnel were spotted at last week's Dynamite taping.
“There were TKO reps at Dynamite last week,” Alvarez wrote.
Naturally, the revelation sparked questions about exactly why representatives from WWE and UFC parent company TKO would be attending an AEW event.
When one fan asked what brought them to the show, Alvarez played down the possibility of anything significant taking place behind the scenes.
“I think just checking it out, they weren’t comped obviously.”
The August 12 edition of AEW Dynamite emanated from the Pearl Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a reported attendance of 1,846 fans.
It was a busy night of action for AEW, with Jon Moxley facing Jack Perry as part of the Continental Challenge Cup. TNT Champion Kevin Knight also defended his title against Chris Jericho, while David Finlay battled Jay White in another tournament encounter.
Elsewhere, Kris Statlander took on Viva Van, while Hikaru Shida and Persephone teamed against Maya World and Thunder Rosa.
The show also featured Mike Bailey, MJF and Nick Wayne battling in a three-way match to determine the number two entrant position for the Casino Gauntlet at AEW All In.
While the sight of TKO representatives at an AEW show is certain to generate some curiosity among wrestling fans, Alvarez's comments suggest there was no special invitation involved and that those attending may simply have wanted a firsthand look at AEW's television production and live presentation.
There is currently no indication that their attendance was connected to any formal business between TKO and AEW.
