WWE reportedly considered making Lil Yachty a major part of its upcoming Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta before ultimately deciding to abandon the idea.

According to WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select, an early plan for the September 6 event called for Lil Yachty to perform a full concert during the show. The performance was reportedly being discussed as one of the notable attractions for WWE's latest primetime special.

Atlanta would have been a fitting location for the appearance. Yachty was born in Mableton, Georgia, just outside the city, and has longstanding ties to Atlanta's hip-hop scene.

However, WWE reportedly changed course following the reaction to celebrity involvement during the previous Saturday Night’s Main Event. Based on that feedback, the company decided not to move forward with the planned concert.

Sunday Night’s Main Event is scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 6.

Despite the concert being dropped, Yachty has already established a recurring presence on WWE television throughout 2026.

His most recent appearance came during SummerSlam Sunday, where he became physically involved during Trick Williams' United States Championship defense against Baron Corbin. Yachty was sent through a table during the match, which ultimately ended with Corbin defeating Williams to capture the championship.

Earlier in the year, Yachty had been associated with Williams and accompanied him to the ring for his United States Championship match against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42 Night 2.

The rapper was also involved in the July 10 edition of SmackDown, presenting Williams with a customized version of the United States Championship.

One of the original ideas for the upcoming Sunday Night’s Main Event show was to feature and heavily promote a legitimate Lil Yachty concert as one of the show’s main drawing points, @WrestleVotes Radio on @FightfulSelect has learned.
