Adam Copeland has made it clear that he intends for AEW to be the final destination of his legendary in-ring career.
During an interview with Ariel Helwani, Copeland was asked directly whether he expects to finish his wrestling career as a member of the AEW roster. The former multi-time world champion confirmed that is his plan, admitting that his decision could disappoint fans who may have hoped to see him return elsewhere before eventually hanging up his boots.
Copeland said:
“Yes. That’s where I want to. And I know that may disappoint a lot of people, but I love it there. I love the company. I love the attitude. I love the exuberance. I love the drive. I love the excitement that I see from the locker room.
“I don’t want to go anywhere else. I’m good. You know, I did everything I could do there [WWE] and then some, and again, I think they got everything out of me and then some that they could have for the better, which is really all you can ask for in a relationship or a partnership.”
Copeland's comments seemingly close the door on the possibility of one final WWE run, with the veteran believing both he and WWE achieved everything they could during their lengthy relationship.
After initially retiring from professional wrestling in 2011 due to a serious neck condition, Copeland made his remarkable return at the 2020 WWE Royal Rumble. He remained with WWE until his contract expired in 2023, before making his AEW debut at WrestleDream later that year.
Now, with the closing chapter of his career approaching, Copeland appears determined to spend whatever time he has left inside the ring with AEW.
