AJ Styles may have stepped away from active competition, but the WWE Hall of Famer is not completely ruling out the possibility of wrestling again under the right circumstances.

Speaking on The AJ Styles Show, Styles discussed whether fans could ever see him lace up his boots for another match following his WWE retirement. While the former WWE Champion has little interest in simply returning for an independent wrestling appearance, the opportunity to share the ring with his sons could potentially change his mind.

Styles explained that any comeback would need to feel significant, particularly if his son Avery Styles and his other sons eventually pursue wrestling careers of their own.

“But how long is it going to take my son or sons to get in the position where I’m able to do this show with them that matters? If it doesn’t matter, I’ll be honest with you, I’m probably not going to come back for an indie show. I mean, even if it’s to wrestle with my boys. I probably do not want to do that. I don’t mind being a special guest and a manager kind of thing, but if I do come back, hopefully I’m not 60 and it’s on a big show. I would definitely let, who wouldn’t, what father wouldn’t want to come back and tag with his sons? So I don’t know if that opportunity will come because it depends how long it’s going to take him.”

Although Styles appears reluctant to return for a traditional independent wrestling match, he remains open to staying involved in other capacities. He specifically mentioned potentially working as a special guest referee or manager, allowing him to remain part of wrestling without committing to another full match.

Since retiring from in-ring competition, Styles has continued to maintain a presence within WWE. He recently stepped into Terry Taylor's role as a producer and coach with NXT while Taylor recovers from knee surgery.

Styles has also regularly spent time at the WWE Performance Center, using his experience to help guide and develop the company's next generation of talent.

That experience could become particularly valuable for his own family. Avery Styles officially made his professional wrestling debut in June, beginning what could eventually become the next chapter of the Styles family's wrestling story.

AJ has been helping Avery develop his skills as he gains experience in the business, with the possibility of eventually becoming ready for a WWE tryout.

Whether that journey ultimately results in AJ Styles making one final trip through the curtain remains to be seen. However, the prospect of teaming alongside his sons on a major stage appears to be one scenario capable of tempting "The Phenomenal One" back into action.
