Nikki Bella has opened up about the emotional impact of her sister Brie Bella's injury, revealing that she has little interest in continuing her WWE comeback without her longtime tag team partner by her side.

Brie suffered a broken right scapula during the six woman tag team match on night one of WWE SummerSlam and recently confirmed she is expected to be sidelined for anywhere between three and six months.

In a heartfelt video shared on The Bella Twins' YouTube channel, which was filmed while Nikki visited Brie during her recovery, Nikki was asked how she felt about potentially continuing her WWE run on her own.

"I don't want to do it alone. A part of me feels like I need to stay back with you and just wait for us to come back in together. It's already been a one and a one. I don't want to do this again without you."

Brie quickly encouraged her sister not to put her career on hold, before jokingly asking Nikki to help hold her hair as the pair shared a lighthearted moment.

While Nikki's comments reflected her emotions, she stopped short of confirming any plans regarding her WWE future. She did not address her current contract status or suggest when she may return to television, and WWE has yet to comment on the situation.

Earlier this year, both Nikki and Brie signed new two year WWE contracts, which they have described as the final deals of their in ring careers before retirement. With that in mind, Brie's lengthy recovery could take up a significant portion of the time they have left as active competitors.

Nikki had only recently made her own return after recovering from a broken ankle suffered in March, with SummerSlam marking her first match back. Meanwhile, Brie returned to WWE on a full time basis at the Royal Rumble in January and went on to capture the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Paige at WrestleMania 42, the first tag title reign of her career. The duo later dropped the championships in July.

Brie's injury has also paused a major storyline. Following their SummerSlam match, The Bella Twins shocked fans by turning on Paige, but with Brie now out of action, that angle remains unresolved.
