The World Heavyweight Championship match promo is shown.
Jericho is first out, coming out alone, still with his right arm taped up, selling the injuries from Unforgiven further.
HBK makes Jericho wait, and a chant for Michaels begins.
Michaels is next out to the second biggest pop of the night and the World Heavyweight Championship graphic is then shown.
Lilian Garcia makes the announcements.
As Shawn Michaels' name is announced it appears there are no boos from the crowd, which is unusual in Michaels' case.
Jericho gets all the boos.
The two men stand off as the HBK chant begins again.
The match begins and is quite fast paced.
Shawn goes for sweet chin music early, and Jericho ducks.
Jericho is whipped into the corner but moves out of the way as Michaels hits the ringpost with his shoulder.
The action quickly spills to the outside after Chris Jericho hits a springboard shoulder block on the Heart Break Kid.
The ladders come into play as Y2J picks up the ladders set up on the rampway and Michaels takes him down with a drop toe hold, sending Jericho's face into the ladders.
Michaels picks up another set of ladders but is taken down for the Walls Of Jericho.
Jericho gives up on the hold and attempts to take a set of ladders into the ring.
Michaels jumps on the ladders sending them into Jericho's face.
HBK sets up another set of ladders in the ring and begins climbing towards the gold which is hanging high above the ring.
This happens a couple of times with Chris Jericho taking him down each time.
Jericho then uses the ladders to jab Shawn's ribs as we see Chris' face bleeding, it looks like it may be coming from inside his mouth.
Y2J then sends HBK into the corner, and attempts to follow up with a bulldog, but is sent flying into a set of ladders set up against the turnbuckles.
Michaels sends the ladders, with Jericho's legs trapped between them, to the mat.
Shawn sets up the same ladders between the second and bottom ropes of the opposite corner and drops Jericho's knee onto them.
Michaels then locks in the figure four but Jericho takes advantage of his situation and kicks the ladders against the ringpost, which sends them whiplashing against Michaels' face.
Shawn is then seen selling his eye injury.
Chris Jericho takes those ladders and sets HBK's head up inbetween the two sides and slams one side down on to the back of Michaels' head, crushing his skull.
Jericho then attempts to climb the ladder but is taken down by HBK.
Y2J then sets the ladders up on the top turnbuckle, precariously, and attempts a bulldog but is again stopped by Michaels who rams Jericho into them, sending him to the outside, Shawn then throws the ladders on top of him.
He continues to set up a bigger set of ladders, clearly 15 feet high and places Jericho on one of the announce tables.
Michaels starts to climb the ladder but Jericho stirs and begins to attack him.
They both end up falling from the ladder, onto and through the announce table.
It seems Jericho was attempting a back drop but Michaels shifted the weight.
They both slowly get into the ring, HBK climbs to the top rope slowly, holding a set of ladders against the turnbuckles as he does, but is met by a dropkick from Jericho who climbs the ladders leaning against the turnbuckles and begins to set up a superplex from the top of those ladders.
Michaels beats him off and pushes the ladders away, causing Jericho to fall.
HBK follows up with an elbow drop from the top rope and sets up for sweet chin music.
Before Shawn can hit the superkick he is met with a ladder to the face.
Jericho then hits a lionsault onto the ladders which he has already placed on top of a fallen HBK.
Chris Jericho then sets up a set of ladders over HBK's fallen body so he is pinned under the bottom rung.
Michaels musters up the strength to push the ladders off of him causing Jericho to fall off the top and completely out of the ring, but he landed on his feet and it seems he may have blown his knee out or broken his ankle on that landing.
Michaels just gets to the top of the ladder and stalls before Jericho gets to him, pushing the ladders away, causing HBK to fall one leg over the top rope.
Both men climb the ladders and battle at the top before Lance Cade attacks Michaels, who knocks him out quickly with Sweet Chin Music and rejoins Jericho atop the ladder.
In ends up as a tug of war between the two as they both get their hands on the belt, but Jericho eventually swings the momentum in his favour hitting Shawn with a headbutt causing him to fall from the ladder, giving Y2J the win.
Chris Jericho retains the World Heavyweight Championship.
A bloody Jericho celebrates as the replay is shown and Cade helps him out of the ring.
It looks as though Chris has chipped a tooth at some point during the match.
Michael Cole signs off as the show ends with Jericho at the top of the ramp.
---------------------------------
---------------------------------
*In my opinion, with the exception of the WWE and World Title matches, the show was just a sloppy PPV filler to get us to Cyber Sunday and Survivor Series.
the Batista match was too predictable and I didn't really care for the fact that every match had the fight go to the outside.
The WWE title match was by far the best match of the night, but even that wasn't a great match. Jeff Hardy deserves the WWE title, and it looks as though
he will be overlooked again as it appears Koslov will be next to challenge Triple H.
The world title match was good, and Michaels and Jericho clearly set out to raise the bar in ladder matches, with some new spots, and some they decided against mid-match.
but it was again, nothing special, however, I think was one of the two GOOD matches of the night.*
