Rob Van Dam stole the show for AEW on April 20th.... RVD 4:20 did indeed ride again that night and the crowd was 100% in his corner. But, Van Dam has appeared several times with AEW with a mixed bag in terms of wins and losses. That being said, the "Whole FN' Show" is more than open to a longer run in AEW in the future. Here are highlights of RVD from his podcast discussing the matterĀ per Fightful:
On possibly having an extended AEW run:Ā āI would like to think that Iām open to any conversation. So anythingās worth considering. Letās hear what you got in mind, whatever. But no, I donāt have any of those talks. What you see is what you get, and thatās all anybody is talking about. All anyone is talking about doing, let me put it that way.ā
On the pros and cons of working one-off appearances:Ā āOne thing the fans donāt take into consideration that I do, itās cool having time off and I donāt want to be full-time, anything like that. But it is a big disadvantage, being in the ring, because no matter how much conditioning that I do, thereās no wrestling conditioning like wrestling. So if I was wrestling like every week, instead of sometimes every six weeks, maybe eight weeks, whatever, then you would have a little bit even more fluid RVD.
āSo for people who havenāt thought about that, that are like, āWell, he might not quite be what he used to be,ā and whatever, Iām not saying youāre wrong. Iām not saying Iām not 53. But I am saying thatās something you probably donāt even think about is that itās a big advantage when youāre in ring condition because youāre in there doing it. That is one thing that I think about when I think about working weekly or under contract with an actual job versus just taking the shots here and there. Thereās pros and cons obviously to both.ā
