During the most recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, Chris Jericho discussed Steve Austin potentially wrestling at WrestleMania 38.
Check out the highlights below:
āHeās the best guy for the job, and heās one of the only guys for the job because, first of all, if Steve does come back, heās gonna look like a killer. Heās gonna be so big and so jacked up. Heās not just gonna come back and be there as wearing a shirt and shorts or whatever. You can tell [heās been training], and heās always told me, āI donāt want to go back as anything less than I was before. And if Iām gonna go back, thereās gonna be so much training going on that I donāt wanna come back for one.ā Maybe he doesnāt come back at all. But if he does, whoās he gonna work? You look and see the guys on the roster. Heās not gonna work with Brock [Lesnar] because he doesnāt need to be getting dumped on his head and nobody wants to see that. Heās not gonna work with Goldberg because you donāt want to put those guys from the same generation out there because I would want to work with other guys. I remember when Matt Hardy came in. I said, āWe donāt need to see a Jericho vs. Matt Hardy match. We donāt need to see a Jericho vs. Christian match. Weāve seen them. We need to see Matt Hardy and Sammy, and Jericho andā¦.ā
āSo, if Steve comes in, the best guy for the job is Kevin Owens because Kevin will be able to sell it on the mic. He can go toe to toe with Steve, and he has a comedy element to him that Steve has as well. He can use that to his advantage, and you canāt do that with Roman Reigns. And Kevin will be able to work with Steve exactly the way that Steve can work his best. Kevin can do some flying and flipping and stuff, but if you ask him, heād probably rather punch and kick you in the corner, and thatās Steveās whole offensive plan. So, I think itās a great idea, and I would love to see it happen. And Kevin has been using [the Stunner] for a while because Steve allowed him to. So, thereās your story.ā
