We recently reported WWE decided to nix plans for a December pay-per-view, meaning the WWE TLC pay-per-view will not take place this year, additional WWE had no plans for an NXT TakeOver for November or December.

In an update, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics is reporting that WWE is planning to hold their first special for NXT 2.0 on Sunday, December 5, 2021. It remains unclear if this will be branded TakeOver or run with a different name.

NXT TakeOver 36 was the last PPV to be held for the brand back in August 2021.
