Kushida has defeated Santos Escobar to become the new NXT Cruiserweight Champion.

Santos Escobar issued an open challenge on tonight's WWE NXT on USA Netowkr. Kushida accepted the challenge and ended up defeating Escobar to capture the title in a surprise victory.

This is the first NXT Cruiserweight Title reign for Kushida.
