Positive COVID-19 Cases Cancelled SmackDown Tapings Last Week

WWE was scheduled to tape two episodes of SmackDown on August 4th to air on the 7th and 14th respectively. Instead, WWE canceled the the second taping at the last moment.

The cancellation had various reasons, including Vince McMahon nixing so many ideas last minute.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider revealed that the main factor of the cancellation was some positive COVID-19 cases. It's not known how many people tested positive, or even any of who they are.

“They were supposed to tape two SmackDown episodes last week, and I’ve been told by 3 different sources that the second SmackDown taping got canceled at the last second because they had more positives. If people don’t show up and they are not on the show again this week, they might have gone to Epcot for a little vacation”
