John Cena's opponent for WWE WrestleMania 36 will be Elias, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer noted, the idea for the match is that Elias will get over via a match with Cena, even with it likely being a loss.

John Cena is set to return to WWE on next week's episode of SmackDown. A recent report suggests Cena has a lot of control this year over what he wants to do at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania 36 takes place on April 5 in Tampa, Florida.
